Lynching In America Exhibit

Experiential Design

In support of the Equal Justice Initiative's Lynching in America project, this exhibit featured stories of lynching victims as told by their descendants. This was displayed in audio, video, print and interactive data displays & maps to further to create a national conversation about the legacy of racial terror in America today.

The design of the exhibit featured thick wooden frames that contained stretched scrim fabric. This system was overlaid onto the gallery walls containing powerful quotes that juxtaposed the content with the message in an impactful way. The footprint also featured an area for a stage and seating that was used for ongoing programming.
